as porcelain goes, this is a massive piece.
a succulent mushroom seems to grow from
a large basin, using its extra powers to sprout
a bowl on its cap.
the trunk also has connotations of african
bread fruit trees, with the bowl on top as
a possible ritual vessel.
this sculpture is made from five wheel-thrown
segments joined together and rethrown.
each section would make a terrific pot on its own,
but together they take on a new narrative quality
