the aged appearance of this architectural vase
with its roof-like upper segment has been achieved
by grinding the white engobe from the dark clay
after the first firing, then treating the surface with
iron ore and subsequent refiring.
the lower segments are wheel thrown and altered
and the top built from coils and paddled.
it has a small orifice on the top right
