blue and green chawan

at first sight this may seem like a comic book drawing
of a chawan, but it has some inherent qualities that go
beyond the obvious.
the clay is a hand-dug sandy stoneware clay that
displays its shortness well in the trimmed foot area,
there are interesting finger marks in the
green engobe near the rim
and what really sets this bowl apart from the rest is
the colour matching inside and around the foot,
where the seashell supports burned away and
created stunning spots of glaze
