madara turtle vase

two bowl-shaped parts were joined at the rims
to make this shape, with an opening constructed
in an eccentric position near the top.
it is made from australian porcelain clay
that fires to pure white and covered with
a wheat straw ash based madara glaze.
I refired this piece for optimal glaze effect,
now the glaze drops stop just short of the foot
