german chawan with tenmoku glaze, foot

in this picture the pinched foot of the previous chawan is shown.
the remains of the shells that were used to support
the piece in the firing are clearly visible.
the shells disintegrate, but the lime they largely consist of
combines with the feldspar in the clay to form a natural
glaze in some places.
this creates an interesting landscape on the bottom of the bowl
